women standing at the end of the dock, looking out to sea for the love that is long gone, on the winds of time I reached out my hand to console whispered in her ear, "don't give up" life is not fair or wise, but you are so fight and contend for life moves on when you can no longer walk crawl and when you can no longer crawl, don't submit, for I will be there to foster your weaker moments
then I looking down at her feet, unshod and I knew how far she had truly come blushing in my ignorance, I awaken to see here was a women of substance humbled was I in her quiet elegance how strong her hidden inner strength resounds she would not give up no matter the strife I whispered then to this persevering soul when my personal enlightenment took hold show me the way, for she knew all I was seeking to learn in life
Turning then she spoke to me "it's loved remembered that gives me strength" with that she turned and walked away watching her fade into the mist, I knew what I must do so now I stand at the end of the Dock looking out to sea for love long gone on the wind feeling another's hand that reached out to me I will contend to them, when the question is asked "it's loved remembered that gives me strength" it then becomes their turn to watch me I walk away

Such a beautiful image written on the wind of words.

Cheryl, in the first milliseconds that I saw the title of your poem my little dyslexic tic took over and I thought it said "Preserving Women." The image that jumped to mind was of my mother and aunts canning fruit preserves. Of course, your poem is far deeper, but it has the same effect on me with the lines:
"it's loved remembered that gives me strength"
it then becomes their turn to watch me I walk away.
Beautiful expressive poetry, Cheryl.
Best regards,
Leland
These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .

"Persevering Women" delivers a message that etch on the readers' mind the words of the day.
An inspired masterpiece that will pass the test of time, for it is beauty in jar of wisdom with the aroma of Love.
