No Siren Song

lone lighthouse standing off shore
sending your love beam of warm light
wink, then blink.. closing your warm yellow eye
spin and blink then wink at the ships in the night
as they sail by most times unseen or known to you
this light you send says look but don't touch
someone added a voice to you apparition
so now you sing our loud and deep
on a wet foggy night
 you now serenade
no sirens song do you sing
not a melody in your singsong voice
yet lovely received as one of trusted hope
embraced as one would a maiden on shore
sailors stand on the deck pinning for your call
awashed in waves soaked to the skin
eyes peeled into the dark, hearts beating fast
until out of the night your cry is heard
on ears received as sweet soft welcome home

I like lighthouses. You can find a few of them on Vlieland, Terschelling and Ameland(small islands north of The Netherlands) - but they aren't used anymore...
