yellow is the color of warmth
friendship and buttercups
children hold them under their chins
to see if they will find a love in life

Red is the color of compassion and
roses grown to show passion and heat 
valentines sent in shape of hearts
from lovers seeking approval

green is the color of desire
be it a monster in the eyes
or envy over another's possessions
these fleeting as frogs leaping on a pond

blue is the color of peace
reflected in the sky or sea
or it can be one of pinning
from feeling low and in need

but Orange now that is special
it rhymes with nothing
but brings joy and happiness
to all who see it, as bright as sunshine
