From out of nowhere joy arrived
Never expecting it to come
Depression made me want to hide
And no more to it me succumb

I prayed and prayed for tides to turn
Nothing remains the same I'm told
It is from hard times that we learn
Even the smallest good is gold

Thank God I had a friend who I
Unloaded all my cares and woes
While bad news on my door arrived
Each day giving me cares and woes

Now things are looking up somehow
I never thought I'd see the day
The wheel made quite a turn for now
And gave at last a happy day

So if you're down don't give up hope
'Round corner we don't know what  lies
And with the bad try best to cope
Fight hard the lows wait for the highs

For they do come if we hang on
Don't let go if you do you'll fall
Then you will never know you won
When you hung on and gave your all
