My prayers are with you. I lost my dad 24 years ago and the pain is fresh, oh too fresh. Thank God I had my significant other put me together, your words are touching to the heart, music to the ears, food for the soul.

Watching a loved one on the edge of life and death - one of life's most difficult challenges. We wish they'd get better on earth, all the while asking for wisdom to understand. I know this first-hand, I watched all my sons [3 of them] go through a long illness and finally, death.

Your poem has brought me an incredible amount of comfort.

This one hits waaaaaaaaaaaay too close to home: my Daddy not in great health, just got out of the hospital with bacterial pneumonia, is in a nursing home to rehab, to get his strength back. It took a lot out of him. You are in my prayers: God bless you. An excellent write, a plea I echo....Daddy, don't leave me now. *tears*

To watch the declining health of a beloved parent is one of the most difficult things we all face. I die bedside vigils at both of my parents deaths and I will never get over it but it always helps to know I was there to hold there hands till they were called home.
