Spiral Song

When will her stirring be complete?

A question that only

One’s heart can answer,

For she is no longer in time.

This older, seasoned woman 

Whose recipes for a good life

Begin and end with 

Loving relationships.

In her vessels she mixes

The stories of her lifetime

And those of her ancestors,

Filled to the top with laughter, joy, and tears.

She blends

With caring, conscious intent,

The bitter, sweet, and pungent memories

Of her existence.

Listen to the music she makes,

This melodic “Spiral Song,”

Created with a loving energy

That transcends space and time.
