Love Sits Waiting on the Shelf

I am like a blank canvas
Waiting for paint to be swirled
within a brush. Colors mixed
Thoughts transposed. And formed
Brought through the channels
Of light within my soul
A paint that never dries
And a gleam upon my breath
Layers and layers-upon words
Twisting and forming
Defined by my mind
An aura of luminescent sun
Words that are seen by visual perception
Cried upon, laughed about, savored
Felt with a penetrating emotion
Woken by a sleeping soul
Taken from within. Torn pages
With roses pressed by time
Love…. Sits waiting on the shelf
For more of its unseen greatness
Heeded only when asked
And beloved by us all
Prevailing, Prevailing, Prevailing….
