Imagine you are lying in your grave, forgotten, waiting to be remembered so that you can rest in peace.

The shadows, busy changing form
Look different from below,
Left then north, right then south,
Spiralling, gyrating,

Silent air is moved by souls
And blown beneath the darkest holes,
Each atom braced to face the cold
So whisper quietly please.

The breeze brings news
A hint of flowers
Desolation lightens as the expectation heightens
And yet …

Many dawns on seasons untold past
Have come and gone
And I have mourned as every ray of sun
Turned to the glow of moon
And yet, this feeling lingers on.

Unknown friend, why stop and stare
Treading nearer with such care,
I feel your doubt, you glance away,
The posy not mine, yet you stay!

Bending, reading, weeping, weeding,
Pity touches deep,
You understand my sorry
Knowing why I cannot sleep.

Goodbye kind soul, we both may smile
As all my torments cease,
A breathless sigh escapes for ever,
I’m content with peace.

Inherent Chaos by Terry Vinson

The fortunate inherit riches, prestige, positive notoriety. Those not so lucky bear legacies filled with poverty, infamy or, worse yet, the unhinged insanity and murderous urges of their ancestors.
