Your heart skips beats,
You feel like butterflies,
You can’t focus on tasks,
You make up excuses and lies,
You pick up the phone to dial a number, but put it back down,
You can’t find the words to say when he or she comes around,
You lie awake at night wishing that you could say,
The words you want to tell them and the thoughts that won’t go away,
You smile to hide the feelings and laugh to hide the pain,
You want to tell them how you feel, but don’t know how to explain,
You grab every essence they have the scent they wear as they walk by,
You want to put your arms around them so bad that you could cry,
It feels so great when they are talking to you, but you want to say it so bad,
And then when they walk away with another, you feel so very sad,
You wait for the day when it comes around that their heart is broken into,
And then run to shelter them in your arms and then you can say, “I love you.”
