OPERA IS MY LIFE

each second 

i live is the

most intense 

moment of my life


i write opera librettos

and see all around me

as a stage

waiting for the singers

to appear


opera takes audiences 

through heaven and hell

as its unearthly music 

thunders through theaters

lifting audiences

from the inbetween 

into realms rarely seen


without the darkness 

we cannot experience

the light and opera

ushers us into

the mystical

heavens and hells

of our lives


ah yes opera

its glorious sounds

are not for 

the faint hearted

who perfer 

the safe inbetween


but once you

enter into operas

enticingly delicious 

embrace you will

never be the same
