Lifes a Second and Death is Forever
by Judy Joy Jones
dont worry he said
as he was going
to check a loud noise outside
i always carry my gun
i thought
my only weapons are
my paint brushes clay
flute drums harps violins
writing books songs an poems
i would rather die creating life
then taking it
he laughed
i cried
lifes a second
and death is forever
no matter my hardships
being a female artist alone
and ahead of her time
my tears of joy an sorrow are
deeply etched in
every painting sculpture
song poem an book i create
only thru the gifts
given to me on loan
will you know i walked
through life naked
putting all my trust
in an unseen force i call
the sacred an divine
from whence all creaton flows
i would rather die
creating life then taking it
lifes a second
and death is forever
