lay starving
on the street

their pain
so great
they begged
to die

a wooden cane
by one
mans side

the other screamed
his badly
bruised body
in desperate need

you and i
the only hope
of the
dying homeless
we see

two men
lay starving
on the street

may our hearts
open wide
to our brothers
and sisters in need
