Poetry
· deep breaths.

· apathy takes me.

· long drives.

· nothing more.

· ode to growth.

· living in a dream.

· indecisive.

· that afternoon.

· art.

· music melts.

train tracks.

by Bethany Peterson — Read all 39 poems by Bethany Peterson

This one's slightly graphic and it certainly is dark.

Thursday, October 24, 2019

sometimes I stand right in front of a train
I’m on the tracks
even though I know I should get off
I’ve been here before
even though I’ve been away for months
all it took was one step,
the metal beneath my feet
and my blade above them
5 months sober
laid flat on the tracks.

I've ben there. I've done that.
I beat the system. I will never go back.

Says a lot about what's going on in the poet's mind. Dark thoughts bring dark words. Working through to brighter times.

congratulation for 5 month sober, not an easy feat to attain,

writing is often my life line as I travel through life
