Poetry
· deep breaths.

· apathy takes me.

· long drives.

· nothing more.

· ode to growth.

· living in a dream.

· indecisive.

· that afternoon.

· art.

clear skies.

such is life.

Tuesday, December 10, 2019

nothing can prepare you
for the pain you’ll feel
for the people you’ll hurt
and the people who will hurt you
it just happens
it hits you
with the roaring intensity of thunder
the shock you’ll encounter
feels like you’ve been struck by lightning,
but you’ll learn to forgive
them and yourself
though this storm has passed
and the skies are now clear
you simply wring out your drenched clothes
and wait for the next one
except this time you’ve got an umbrella.

His Grace

Experience is a good teacher, a good preparer for the future. Reminded me of countless times that my words were mistaken and storms of first anger, followed by regret, came and went. But one thing we must understand as writers, exposing ourselves to the Internet, is that we must have developed an umbrella for the deluges that will surely come.

Thanks for clearing the air.

We feel pain when someone hurts us, and we should feel pain if we hurt someone, or at least feel ashamed of ourselves.

Clear skies indeed, How they come at a price, as you so insightfully lay out in this fine poem.
