although it’s tempting,
you can’t ignore the darkness
because without it,
you wouldn’t have grown.
I know you have scars
as we all do,
physical or not
wishing them away
won’t change a damned thing.

Without the "slings and arrows of outrageous fortune," we wouldn't have the experience that is required to mature. Briefly and poetically stated, you have shown us.

You got that right. You can't ignore or wish away those things that hurt us, physically or emotionally. We have to deal with them as best we can, and the scars are a reminder of what was, and that we survived to be here now, and can shine a light on the darkness.
