apathy takes me.

this is how I've been lately.

I hold the lighter in my hand

and watch the flame flicker

into oblivion,

as my thumb slowly releases.

in the flame, I can see my life

bright and blue

I’m reminded of the little time I have

and I don’t care.

Perhaps a cry for help. With all the opportunity there is, there is little time for apathy in a changing world.
