I live waiting
floating like a seed drifting
through time through space
trolling the currents of fate
breezes that carry me to places
I'd never thought to go
driving me to do things
I'd never dreamed to do
sometimes setting me down
where I sprout tentative roots
that reach out, explore, wonder
but I am not an oak
not yet
perhaps not ever
secured to no single spot
