Ur was a city in old chaldea
Whose people worshipped idols every kind
A boy named Abram he was born one day.
But he was different than the people there.
The God of Noah Abram bowed to serve.
Though Abrams daddy worshipped many gods.
And Abrams years were seventy and five
And God called Abram Beaten unto me.
For I will lead you and will lead your brood.
Across the westward land unto a place
Which I've prepared for an inheritance.
If you obey me I will see you through.
Get sarai your wife and your nephew lot.
And go to monad.I will be with you.

So Abram did as God told him to do.
He took his wife and nephew and his kin
And abstinence. The journey would be long.
Through warring desert tribes and slick bandits.
Across what we now call fertile crescent.
Unto the land promised by Soverign God.
And there was division for many were
The men of Abraham and those of lot.
If lot you take the right I go the left.
If lot you take the left I go the right.
No Abram I go valley of the plain.
To Sodom I sojourn, the prosperous town.
Yet lot the men are wicked to excess.
Be careful on your sojourn to Sodom.

And Abram had a long disturbing dream.
Of birds and beasts, to rise and there to kill.
And God there changed his name to Abraham.
For many would be this man's descendants.
And sarai would be Sarah, bear a child?
In their old age a promise God to keep.
In time the many Yeats there would to pass.
And much appointing down to Egypt land.
Where Abraham became a wealthy man,
And lent his service to the pharaohs there.
Four hundred thirty years would Hebrews serve.
Yet come out with much spoil and many things.
For Abraham indeed was patriarch.
And father of the nation of the faith
