Objective truth does not exist
but we know that is a lie

There is a keyhole in the soul
which yearns to have unlocked to it
the mystery of
life's meaning and purpose;
every so often
a shadow passes over that spot
as if a door into another world
were silently sliding open -
the keys of truth
passing somewhere overhead

But is there only one that
is the perfect fit
that alone gives access
to the Great Beyond?
In order to be true
Truth must surely be unyielding
and jealous as the grave?

If so, then it is of no use to us
if we are not receiving it
And it is of no use not to receive it
if it is the only way
the camel will pass through
the eye of the needle
and onto the other side

* * * *

Seventy years is but a blip
on the screen of eternity;
if days of the week were decades
I'm aleady on Thursday afternoon...

How's my weekend looking?!

Kate, the weekend looks GREAT but today looks better. Time is only a blip on the radar screen. If a camel can pass through the eye of a needle then I just may be a monkey's uncle.(lol)Your write is very thought provoking.

You hit on a topic that I have been contemplating. This simply helped to fuel the fire, and I thank you for that. Nice write.

Kate you are in a rare mood and temperement this decade. How do you do it when everything is whirling around and around you? I guess you guard the key to your heart and never let go. Love your poem.
