Hey, people. This is a repost and is my own quiet and personal offering for today. My love, thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially those of you in and around NYC. I can only imagine what the atmosphere is like there today. I will reflect with respect and reverence on all I read. But, without doubt, the world has been changed by this one event and, in the light of other pressing issues, too, I will be interested to see how your thoughts are permutating. Four is a significant number in spiritual terms, I think.
This poem originally stemmed out of a Matchbox 20 song, hence the title... but today I have "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling rattling about in my brain - and if someone could let me know how to attach it, I will post it with the poem. (See, Dawn... inspiration is easy with lyrics bouncing about in your head all the time! :) Yesterday's "Palm Of Your Hand" came out of having Vanessa Carlton, "Ordinary Day", on!) LOL K xx

BRIGHT LIGHTS
If I took you to the top
of the Empire State,
would you throw me down?
If you took me to Ground Zero,
could I ever possibly
lift you up?
Wherever you are today,
high or low,
know
that there are
Cities of Angels
posted
to keep your neon
from fading to blue
and your dimly-burning candle
waxing bright.
Oh my Sweet Kate as always you manage to know just what to say in almost any situation and I am sure our American brothers and sisters on the den appreciate this wonderful and warm poem. Well said.
It is, will always be, a day of pain, Kate... BUT... it is also a day of hope. Watching the footage of firefighters and police people from every corner of this country quietly, intensely absorbed in bringing unity on that day transcends the horrors.
From outside the U.S. comes this voice, then more voices, then humanity from the world, caring and stunned with we, who call this home. Your poem IS that candle, your words, reality, but with a warmth that finally allows hope to overcome pain. You are loved. Thank you. katy xox (My birthday is the 10th... forever the day before, now).
I hear this LOUD and Clear Sweet Kate!!! WE pray and will never forget today- It was the beginning of ALL--- Kate- ever heard of Paula Cole? Try and get some of her music- Angels- is my favorite and I could listen to it daily--- I will get the exact name another time, pressed for time right now.. Loved your Poem-Well Needed! Warmly,Sheee
