Self-explanatory, I think! :)) K xx

THE NATURE OF VISION
for Jude

Sorrow I can hold – like broken glass;
its jigsaw I can piece together.

But purpose cannot be captured;
like air, it is free
whilst impregnating
everything it touches.

It’s a bobbing balloon
that throws back its head with a laugh
and blows you a kiss from its knotted lips.
And you float.

Who can contain a vision?
It has life in itself
to which the oracle,
the chosen vessel,
bears witness --
like a lamp on a stand.
The alabaster jar cannot conceal forever
its lubricating fragrance.

The picture emerges, unfurling
like an ensign of the Heavens,
drawing our gaze upwards.
It is itself invisible, until,
with sun and stars,
its elements are made light;
then we understand it as
the finely drafted blueprint
on which earth’s foundations rest.

what is vision, if not the dreams our souls search for, when the light of truth and hope permeates our hearts and instills our minds with the burden and the ecstasy of all creation? such is the blueprint a poet must build his foundation on ...

superb poem, Kate ... the likes of which moves the motion within me and sends a message to those who seek life's design ...

I doubt if anyone could have paid him a better tribute Kate! This is flawless and of course he deserves nothing less for his vision, that he has shared with us over the years, and from which so many of us have benefited. Kudo's, and blessings to you!

Love,
Eileen

Oh how appropo for Jude! Yes, to all who appreciate his journey and vision this needs no explanation. The last stanza says poetically what I tried vainly to convey in my last review and pertains maybe to only two other poets I know of. Brilliant, beautiful tribute, Kate! **** Four stars...Lin

Oh Sweet Kate this is so true and so real and I know your vision and your purpose and how hard you have strived to obtain it. You are bound for fame I think my sweet Kate and I hope you will most of all retain your smile and kind heart when you look back at your old friends here on the den. A terrific work here sweet Kate.

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
