This is a poem from my work-in-progress, a volume of devotionals with accompanying poems. My first collection of poetry has just been released at www.PublishAmerica.com. I invite you to visit there.

LET THE BIRDS TELL YOU

As dawn broke through my window pane,
The sweet strong coos of gray doves came,
Followed by accompanying throngs,
Of bobwhites bursting forth in song.

They raised beaks to the sky above,
Filled their breasts with the air of love,
And chirped quite loudly from the trees,
Singing to God, “Father thanks for these.”

Bees buzzed round the blooming flowers,
Agreeing it was the best of hours,
For south winds blew across the fields,
And smiled upon the crops to yield.

All the birds singing and all the bees,
Plus every fish swimming in our seas,
Animals roaming, pet and wild,
Knew God did this—they’re each his child.

So, praise the one who made this earth,
For with his lips we’re kissed at birth,
He gave us nature—the sky and the seas,
Give thanks for all that’s come to be.

I overheard two sisters, ages around three and five. One wanted to step on the spider..and the younger said, "NO! that is one of GOD's creatures. These were most beautiful words to hear and it gives me hope for our children.

Sparrows, robins, woodpeckers, cardinals doesn't matter to me. They are beautiful creatures from God. And God made the honey bee and the queen bee does not have a stinger to sting us like the other bees? I wonder why, is it that the female is much more lenient to those surrounding her?

I very much enjoyed this poem. It does not matter what our parents did. Its what we are called to do and how we do it which matters.
Right now its well past bedtime for me so in the wise old words of the owl
"Sweet dreams, sweet repose.
Sleep on your back so you dont squash your nose"
Thanks
Goodnight

"Let The Birds Tell You" delivers a message of harmony throughout its grandiloquent lines of gratitude entwined in this Paean to the wonders of Being. A true poetic magnificence.

I salute You, Sublime Poet!
