Remember This Promise

This world used to be so magical…
My everyday drama came freshly wrapped in the morning mist.
Now what I see is the silhouette of doubt that builds little by little, as it glows in the loneliness like my birthmark.
It becomes my worst kind of trauma still veiled in yesterday’s twilight fog.
And another morning comes, and I still don’t know how good it is to do what’s right.
I just cannot balance my flesh and thought, while I need them to rebuild my life around.
I need a strong prop inside my shaky self, as cruel reality intrudes on my aspirations.
I await the little voice that finds me here and gives me the words of assurance…
Then, the voice says…
Remember this promise: I’m with you always.
It’s not a license to your perfect composure;
It’s a pledge to console your helpless exposure.
And the voice says…
Remember this promise also: Your faith is what turns your life around.
Your inspiring hope is not lost in vain;
Your love life is not a delusion.
Look! There’s a tree outside! We never know whose branch we really are. Folks of little faith never see it...
And the voice says…
Come, lady, come fly with me! There’s no distinction between you and me now… we are just a woman, you and me in one spirit, awakening yet another precious little child in our true selves.
Then I come to realize that, however little or fragile, my faith is still the one that turns my life around. And I’ll turn my susceptibility into my most adored warmth.
