Simple poetry for a month without warmth

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

Poem Artwork

    January

Oh shut that door!
Were you born in a park?
The light has gone
It’s early so dark.
Soup on the menu
That cheers the bones
Overhead icicles
Brings down the phones

Shiver my timbers
That used to be said
The best of warmth
Is found in my bed
It happens every year
It happens without fail
Winter is here
With a sting in its tail

Good soups are god for te soul too in winter. Love those soups and eat many all winter. Can abide the cold cause I know spring will eventually get here. I would love to live in a warmer climate but finances don't make it possible so enjoy the cold while it is here and can stay warm and dry inside my little apt here.
