The Prisoners Release

by Miller H Caldwell — Read all 115 poems by Miller H Caldwell

Domestic violence must stop. Some prisoners realise their life depends on the first few days out of prison. Will he be understanding?

Friday, March 13, 2009

Let no one doubt your word

if it is said sincerely

To those you know so well

And those you love so dearly.

Your past has led to prison

Your mind is still set free

Life will return as normal

When released to love with me

I've waited very patiently

Yes, at times I've let you down

Remember dear what got you there

There is no need to frown.

Next week the door will open

I'll meet you at the gate

We'll start anew once more

With love now void of hate.

You've captured it well . Hopefully starting anew with the help of someone that really loves them and gives moral support too will help....M

Hi Miller,

I think both the abuser and the victim of abuse are prisoners, and need to be released from the root of their anger that caused the abuse.
Very profound and deeply meaningful poem.

Patience indeed a virtue which leads to understanding, with these two qualities hand in hand good things surely will happen!
Loved the flow, the rhyme not trippy...Bravo!

What a healthy perspective of patience and forgiveness. Hope reigns in these two lives. Connie

There is always a chance to forgive
those who have done wrong.

God will never give up on anyone.
Everyone gets a second chance to start anew.
