And Yes Virginia there is a
I had a plate of cookies for you and I
But my eyes closed after my last bit
I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to meet you
I just wanted to say I was a good girl of eight and just wanted a typewriter.
When I awoke to my surprise I found a note
Maybe next year you can stay awake past eight.
Thanks for my milk and cookies, they were great.
I went to the family room and saw my gift and a note he typed
The keys feel smooth and all is shine and new.
Keep writing and become the writer we all know you can be.
I am now 38 and I am the writer of words that can make you happy and sad.
I am a writer of words that help the ones that can not stand up to fight
I am a writer that wants to say
Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus
Since if there wasn’t I wouldn’t be the writer that I am today.
Children of all ages
Believe in your dreams and what you need to make them real
Will appear one day.
Not from a man in a red suit, but from the love you have for your
Dreams and yourself.
Next year came and with the cookies and milk
I typed him a poem just like the one I wrote today
Thank you for my typewriter,
I remember how shine and smooth the keys were
Thank you for helping me
Become the writer I am today
Merry Christmas
I love you one of your many children you help

Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus
I call him Santa Claus, you might call him something else, but he is real, he gives us the gifts that we need, and most of all that is his uncondtional love letting us knowour dreams are real and that we are love.
Happy Holidays to all, and to all a good nite.
