every day we die by living
expire with each exhalation
and we die to ourselves in love
reborn as someone else
changed from the exchange
that leaves an imprint so deep
you know it's lifelong
so bare so vulnerable
we walk the shoreline
it remembers
the weight of our souls
absorbs the fire of our blood
as the sea swirls around us
erases our footprints
but the memory that stings
this heart of earth
never forgets
never forgotten
is one voice that clings to sound
even silent it breathes in air
even silenced love remains
my love remains

This poem says so much in a few lines that one must read it again and again. And so it lingers on the mind...

I lost 5 loved ones in 6 months time in 2005, including my beloved Dad. This was a comfort to read Linda. Beautiful work. Michelle

"every day we die by living" is about the best opening line i've read in awhile for any pome. this whole piece was beautiful, in its simplicity and message; it's a belief i happen to share.

No wonder it's said that "Love makes the world go 'round". I believe this to be true. Love is an energy that serves as the breath of life for the cosmos.

Love & Light,

"and we die to ourselves in love reborn as someone else" I really can feel this. Everyone I've have ever loved I still love. My heart remembers and they have affected the whole of me and allways will for I have been forever changed by them. Maybe some part of love lives forever. Pierre.

Your opening line, "everyday we die by living" is as an intoxicating a pull as I've ever read.
WOW!
It's so true!
Life, and living it, is so utterly ephemeral and so powerful in its ability to transform. What is there momentarily is taken, or erased, or transformed, in the relentless process of moving forward towards something and leaving behind something.
What a lovely blessing this was Linda!
Your soul is laced with crystal.

Best Regards
Richard
