Butterfly

Promise is an opening flower
enfolded in pink chiffon;
cotton-candied in green grass

The flower’s poppy-seeded hats
 tip to my similar grace

And I, like their opium, am heady
and sticky-sweet with life;
metamorphosis nearly complete

Love your wonderfully creative and artistic way with language. I was just writing in my journal about my recent self-imposed exile and reclusive ways; my cocoon is such a welcome, cozy, safe place - but I cannot fly from there, can I? Your words make me happy to emerge.
