Sometime while we are growing up we find some special individual that helps us along the way, to ease are mental woes.

To A Friend

Lonely are the days of my life
Lonely are the nights of my days
Though I walk among many
It is as if the streets are deserted and dark
But the storm in my heart has ended
The emptiness will soon be gone
My hands are reaching out to touch someone
Some one to laugh with over the simplest thing
Some one to contemplate life with
Please let your hand touch mine.

I like this - it conveys a similar message to my own simple efforts at poetry - it has a strong message to tell and tells it like it is!

You speak. You write. You hope. Your friends are glad.
This is a plea for knowing another individual, who would
eventually become a loyal and meaningful friend.
Well done. Beautifully conceived.
