George wrote this poem for a friend named, Billie Jo. She had only 10% use of her heart and was on the waiting list for a heart transplant when she died at age 31.
The world at last has passed on,
blue skies are now in sight.
Drifting with the peaceful wind,
away from darkness into light.
Fly my angel into Gods hands,
and pray for those still here.
I'll one day join you in his kingdom,
where love lives on with those held dear.
Fly my angel, don't look back
God knows you've done your best,
No more struggles will you face,
at last he'll give you rest.
My first wife died at 37 and it took 20 years for me to write about her. I finally wrote a short story and it is on my website titled "A Slice of a Short Life" and I would like to share it with you.
A sad write, but beautifully written...sad situation, a member of our family recieved a heart transplant several years ago after waiting for a number of years...he lived a healthy life for a few years after the transplant, was able to play ball, and do some of the things he had always wanted to...he passed away about four years after recieving the transplant, he was thirty five, an angel gone home! Enjoyed this very much, a great reminder of how we should cherish our life and health every day! Always a pleasure to read your work!
