This poem was written for a ten year old little girl who was hit by a car and died. Her mother said she loved mythical creatures so I wrote them into the poem.
Somewhere over heavens rainbow
are you waiting just for me,
in a land where angels dwell,
and pegasus is flying free
Do you play with unicorns
upon fleecy clouds of white
or run and jump moonbeams
streaming through heavens night
Do you fly on silvery wings
around twinkling shiney stars
or watch a firey comet traveling
from afar.
Oh daughter how I miss your
warmth and smile so pure, the
gentle tone of your voice,
footsteps quick and sure.
I know that God will keep you
in his care, and all harm will
be kept away. Someday I'll cross
over the rainbow, and we'll be
together in heaven,,,forever more
to stay.

A touching tribute to a child, taken much too soon. Had she lived, might she also have loved poetry. Perhaps so. I'm sure she would have liked this poem. I did.
This exceptional book, Celebrating the Gift of Being Alive, has the perfect thoughts and words for birthdays, graduations, engagements, marriages, and any life celebration or family tradition.
Love & peace be with you
