My husband Richard , who was my soul mate and love of my life died July,6,2012 at the hospital. I wrote this poem for his memorial service. He's been gone a month and I miss him so much! My Life is so empty with out him here with me. My tears keep coming !!
The last time I saw you alive was in ICU and you were struggling so hard to breathe. I told you I loved you and that we were all praying that God would keep you in his tender care and help you to get well. Then I had to leave the room. I never saw you alive again.
One of the last times I touched your hand, you told me you loved me and I did the same.
The last time you held me in a sweet embrace and placed a tender kiss upon my face, are now forever gone.
The mornings we had coffee together or went for a ride, the evenings we watched the pale moon rise high in the sky, will happen no more.
The last time you held me close in our bed and whispered loving sentiments to me are gone. I face each new day with dread. You've left me forever, and never will you come home again. Your life's journey is over! I feel so lost and alone!
I don't know how I can go on. Tears continue to fall, as I wonder why, oh why, you had to die!
Your memory remains and I love you so much! I still long to see you and feel your loving touch!
I have no doubt we'll meet again someday and we'll be together for all eternity.
Until then ,i'll face each new day doing the best I can, for I know you're in Heaven and in Gods loving hands.
I love you Richard and I miss you so much . A part of my soul went with you and I'm not complete with out you here with me !!!!!!
