I WROTE THIS POEM IN 1990. It is an oldie ,goldie, but portrays how I felt at that particular time in my life.
I'm walking through the darkest valley.
I may get lost along the way, stumble asi go My foot steps may faulter , be so very slow. I may have to stop and rest beside a silver stream,listen to a whiperwill, sing it's song so serene.
I'm walking through the darkest valley, trying to follow the path, as it twists and turns along the way. Dear Lord reach out and touch me, my strength is waning fast!
I'm crawling through the darkest valley, heading toward the lights beyond. Their beams cast a golden glow in the ebony night.
I've made it throughh the darkest valley, I am home at last. I see the faces of ones I loved, in years gone past.
An angel chior is singing melodies soft and low. Their songs echo through heaven and to earth below.
The journey I started so long ago is finally over for me. I will dwell in the house of the Lord, for all eternity!

God did not promise us our journey would be all nice and dandy. Life isn't a bowl of cherries, but God gives us the strength to fight our battles even in the darkest valleys and come out as a winner. This is what this poem is all about.
Each one of of us is fighting a battle of our own, and unless I walk in your shoes, I would not be able to interpret the "darkness" in your journey which only you know and God knows. I am glad you've come out of those darkness and become a winner.
Your poem echoes the 21st Psalm. Your poem gives no clue as to what you went through. But you seem to have come to some sort of acceptance of it 30 years ago.
