Progress

You work, try to improve
You test what you’ve done
Finding solace in small change
You long for more, and work again.

Sometimes the goal seems closer
But in one way it never is
Zeno works his paradox so
You’re always halfway there.

Then you’re gifted the unexpected
It happened this week at a gig
Notes aligned and communication worked
Time passed as if it stood still.

That was a musical moment
It could have been at the desk
Another moment may be long in coming
Or not. Back to it!
