I thought today was an ordinary day,
Just like the days before.
We rose from bed and made our plans,
Then rushed right out the door.

Nothing seemed too different,
in the way things went along.
I never even suspected how our life,
Would soon go wrong.

But before I even knew it,
without a thought ahead.
Our lives had made a U-turn,
Where we never planned, instead.

For now we had a crisis,
Unprepared, without a plan.
When "cancer" comes a-knockin',
Don't care if your woman or a man!
