I would like to dedicate this poem to my daughter, Nikki. For twenty-five years she and I fueded over something that now seems so rediculous. I thought she wanted me out of her Father's life and all she wanted was a simple apology for something that happened in 1983. A simple, "I'm Sorry" kept her from her Father who loved her very much. We finally got together in November of 2010 and worked things out. I finally understood her hurt, realized what a pompous ass I had been and that she never wanted me to leave her Father. I told her I was sorry for what had happened in 1983 and all was forgiven. Just in time. Her Father, (my husband of nearly 31 years) died just two weeks later of a subdural hematoma -- but he died a happy man because his "first" child had finally come home to him and "all" was forgiven. This poem is dedicated to Nikki:
‎ANYWAY People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self centered (ME); "Forgive" them -- Anyway. When you spend years building something you cherish, and someone can destroy it overnight; "Build it" -- Anyway. Remember that the good you do today, most people will often forget tomorrow; Do the "Good" today -- Anyway. Give the world the "best" you have, even if to some, it may NEVER ever be enough; Give your "best" -- Anyway. You see, Nikki, life is between you and "YOUR" God . . . It was never between you and I -- ANYWAY, I love You -- Always Will!
