Subtle promise Plucks my dewy bud, A flower of many petals Opening gently. Skilled verbiage strokes. Silken words bind me and I lay— Fluently spread, unprotected; A beach against the wind. My heart rises up wingless, Yet free! Hypnotized and helpless, Floating in awe-struck surrender. Dena L. Moore
