I have asked my self, as I wandered
on the cobblestone streets of my life,
if there was a soul, waiting on a bench
for me to come to that secret park,
hearing my softly approaching steps
like any shadow should make its arrive,
and then, feel the warmth of giving all
to that approaching and waited heart,
without a word a tender welcome
delicately wrapped with many shy smiles.
But, to enter that forest wasn’t a bridge
over the abyss, the waiting soul was sad,
because my feet kept streets wandering
going away, distances growing too far,
putting a bitter taste on a searching tongue
and in the eyes, burning tears all inside,
for what had could been and never was,
for what was wished from a gentle bride,
or from what was expected from a groom
which wasn’t asked, but pushed aside.
The kiss!!! The tender kiss that from
my lips didn’t escape, still there, sad,
they never found those waiting ones
in a lonely bench of a most secret park,
Summer’s fragrance from all the flowers
and feminine perfume charged with desire,
shadows to cover the waiting naked skin
under diamonds shining all over the sky,
and I have asked my self, as I wandered,
why I didn’t jumped over that abyss…
…and followed my heart.

My life's philosophy - nothing ventured, nothing gained has led to some pretty interesting turns in my life. Where I didn't venture - I gained NOTHING, but it is still ok by me. I have been blessed in so many ways when I followed my heart. Perhaps, it is because I truly believe that the choices I made were right ones, but only time will tell.
God bless you. Kathy

I find these verses particularly meaningful to me but the whole poem is very compelling. Thank you for sharing this gift, Georg. Love and peace,

I saw the beauty waiting on the park bench as the beauty of the next life and that first step as being the first step in surrendering to the inevitability of it.
Interesting piece.
