turning 42
middleaged

preoldfuckingfart
ha
dye hair
proud of my legs
guts a little loose
but hey
for the age...
and the miles...
and the insane use of this torso
not so bad
saggy a bit
under the eye
looks like throw mama
most of the time
and forget when i'm hanging
tired alot
tired of dreaming
big shot
all the way to the top
should have been - whoopee
could have been - hemmingway
aint
all's i got is these words
rolling off my hands
and 42 years
of playing hard
on this rock
man says time to put me out to pasture
lick up some salt
it's all good
could go for some grass anywho
trust me
i don't give a shit about 42
just what exactly am i supposed to be doing
sides banging my head day in and day out
making the bills or not
sixth grade math sucks
high school coaches suck
domestication in all forms suck
suck
suck
suck
perhaps
i am
alittle perturbed
with 42
oh god where how is it going so fast
rewind
16 hotter than shit and lovingit
21 the world is mine and takingit
30 queen of the home nest making curtains
40 on the program for the gut, still getting the looks
42 pissed off
cause i sit here everyday thinking when's this big thing gonna happen
when am i gonna have some peace from this fuckingnagging bullshit in my gut that won't ever go away that says i'm supposed to be doing something
other than escaping in the worlds of strangers that dared to put it to paper
and limping
through
each day
waiting on the magic weekend and the one night i know i don't have to beat the birds up
feeling guilty for drinking it up
farming out the kids
fighting with the man
trying to remember what the fuck i did with my watch
sos i can start all the shit again

none of it means jack
diddly squat
on this rave
i say
get over

trust me
i don't give a shit
about
turning 42

Happy belated! And oh, Im quite sure that most men dissagree with your assesement of being pasture ready. At least this one does!......But, if it ever SHOULD happen, I got a large green pasture lass!...I smile in rereat

the most touching part of this was the mention of the wrist watch, finding it ... and starting all over again ... that's something that reaches out to all of us, the notation of time spent and what to do with the time that is left.

whoa girl.....where'd all that come from?
not your usual style - thinking you might need a little "double dog dare ya" - but the write was good, real attitude, will have to put it up there with one of my favorites - so is the birthday celebration still cancelled due LOI? love ya

At 43, there are times that I feel like this then there are other times that I feel like I can conquer the world. Ahh, being Bi-Polar has it's sparks.

I am with Scada on this though, it's really great!
