hide and seek

the words
do not come to me today
perhaps
it’s reading so much
of what others have to say
and how they say it
that have my words
all pinched up
and blocked off
from my brain
but I do love
to jump into another’s heart
so that we beat as one
to feel their joys and pains
and know that I am not alone

but some
originators of thought
can really string a word
can really harmonize a thought

and that
makes me a little
shy
to pull the trigger

for fear
of a really wide miss
way off the mark
of my intended aim
ahhh but I’ve been playing
this word game
too long
so long
there is not a chance
of making excuses
of fear
I worry somedays
that I’ve used my store of words
that I’ve lost my train of thought
and then
I
write
and what gushes forth
garbage or pearls
is not for me to ponder
how can I know their worth
to another heart
some days
the words
hide
and I hide
as well
in them

I like this modern form and you do it so well. Skip the verses though...just run it all together for a smoother flow. Great!

It is within the melted wax of your thoughts and those of others that you have fused thought, mind and heart as one. Fear? Cover it gently with a blanket of inspiration by the things you see and do and say and hear. Sharing this inner beauty you possess provides warmth not only to yourself but others as well and I am proud to have shared that blanket.
