when I opened my eyes
this morning
there was something
different in the air
like something unseen
had happened
while I slept
like the world was a kinder
gentler place
like I knew it was ok
to be me
I’m not a freak
for coming to the page
I’m not a strange alien being
for wanting to write it all down
and all of a sudden I could breath
and what a wonder
that is
it’s ok to be me
it’s ok to live in this skin
it’s really allfuckingright
and
I am free
it isn’t something shameful
no
it isn’t something obscene
I write for crying out loud
I may write mediocre
I may write badly
but praise be
I write
and write I will
right or wrong
good or bad
now
if I could just find someone
to give me money for it…………
ok
I’ll take accolades
I applaud you new freedom. You do not write badly. I enjoy reading your work. I have not been online much due to an injury but I read your work when I can. I always am glad I did.
