Self-pity
is slow death
to the soul
and to the spirit
Yet
how does one keep from falling
into
it’s deadly claws
is there a remedy?
a pill?
a concoction of some sort
that can erase the sourness
of the heart
I know not of one
nor
is anyone likely to conjure one
I simply must wait
and bide my time
in
Self-pity
God help me!!!
Found this amongst some aged yellowing pages
of my youth. circa 1976 I was about 15 old years young
amazing how fitting it is circa 2002
words that convey emotions are so powerful
no?

Teen angst becomes adult depression.. and they DO have pills for that! but I think your last few lines are really the remedy for it all.. TIME! You have obviously always had a wonderful gift for knowing how to release yourself. You are a treat, Josie. katy.
