flash in the sky
cosmic pinball
burst of light
so very far
gazing up hoping to see
the end of a star
life

in a whirl a blaze a burned up

it’s gone
over

and we point
and we sigh
and we ponder
falling stars
falling lives
in a blink
scanning the upside down bowl
of lights
for the next
life
to
fall
