for
the love of God
what is all the screaming
for
insubordination
flat-out
kids think they can
do as they please
irritate at will
wrong
will come against a
brick wall here
every time
love you with all my heart
but
you will not talk to me like that
I
am
not your friend
I am your mother
he
is your father
when I tell you to do something
do it
when I call your name
I don’t want to hear
what
I want to see your face
now
not in a minute
now
you may not cuss
we are not the Osbornes
bitch is a dog but your usage
describes otherwise
shit is a description of
bodily waste
and I won’t hear it out of your
lips
when I say I want to see
your homework
that doesn’t mean in two hours
while you finish that game
I will not stand by and let
you believe that you can talk
to your father like that
you will respect him and me
and if you don’t like it
sorry to hear about your bad luck
you have lost all privileges
no games
no t.v.
no computer
no phone
no life
until
I
say
different
may be
forever
this is not a democracy
I rule this house
will always rule this house
and you either
adhere to my policies
or suffer the consequences
now
what was it
you
wanted to say
nothing
good
nothing is good

(((((((josie))))))) i remember those days well...you'd BETTER respect your parents, or all hell would bust loose...mama wouldn't take no back talk, WHAP, upside the head...i used to say mom had the fastest hand north, south, east AND west...WHAPPP...you'd better learn or you'd get it! and dad...i was TERRIFIED of him, just 'cause of his size...6 foot tall, 280 pounds...biggest hands in the world...all he'd have to do is just LOOK at you, or tell you how disappointed he was in you, at your behavior...man, whip me anytime, but don't give me that look...i'm a firm believer that since they took discipline out of the homes and schools, children now have gotten meaner...if i had my son with me, he'd better NOT disrespect me, or i'd wear him out...let the cps or cops take me in...ain't nothin' worse than a mama wronged! *applause* you said it, josie, you said it all. BAM! i want one of these posters...where can i get one??? :) (((HUGS))) and love, karla. :)

remember those days well; whatever happened to good old fashioned values or discipline in the home? i say bring back the paddles and the spankings (and FORGET having 'em call child protection; leave them and the law out of it and discipline the kids as you see fit! they are YOUR kids, NOT theirs, and they have NO BUSINESS sticking their noses in YOUR business UNLESS the child is in danger!) and let the child know that you won't tolerate disobediance in ANY form; and let them know that you mean business! my parents disciplined me, and i think i am better because of it! i KNEW right from wrong! outstanding rant; thanks for sharing! love, your friend, karen lynn in texas. (((HUGS))) :)

House rules. What ever happened to them?
Good one, Josie. You should have a poster made of this one. They'd sell like hot cakes.

Josie, love your concepts. Just like the good old days. I was brought up this way and I'm none the worst for it. Good write.

Amen!!! There's a small circus in town today, my youngest daughter has been "cleaning" her room for a week, pitches a fit and mopes everytime you ask her to do some work and has had a fun-filled last two months. My foot (or, rather, their father's, since I have a watercolor class tonight) will be put down with force. No clean room, no circus.... Anyway, I hope that is what will happen, for a change, I'm not the one who has to deal with it! ;) Mine are too young to swear to my face, I fear the teenage years, though, remembering my own...

Boy do I know this feeling... I have 2 sons but my house is always filled with 6 to 10 .. I feel like a referee most of the time and it is always with other peoples kids..
It is hard these days.. I wish i had it half as good as these kids have it..
But on the other hand I love them all... and that is what makes it worth it..
Just ten more min mom... Pleeeaasssee..lol..
