It’s Not About Us

It’s not about us

Life, I mean

It’s not about us at all

It’s about Him

The God who created

All that is

And you…and me!

We struggle and strive

Worry and weep

For this and for that

And in the process lose our joy

When all we need

Is found in Him

Who knows our every need!

“Consider the lilies how they grow,” said He

“they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say

unto you, that Solomon in all his glory

was not arrayed like one of these…”

This too, He said to reassure

“If then God so clothe the grass, which is today

in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven;

how much more will He clothe you…?”

While it is good to work and plan

Don’t let struggle and strive

Worry and tears

Steal your joy

Put your trust in Him

Who promises to meet

 Your every need

But not necessarily

Your heart’s desires!

It’s not about us, don’t you see

It’s about Him

For He truly cares

For you...and me!

So, let’s put our trust

In Him, shall we?
