Embrace Each Day

Choose not

To complain of aches and pains

Or even if it’s a bad hair day

Choose not

To complain if the thing you want

You just cannot afford

Choose not

To complain

If it rains or shines

Or if you drop a coin upon your toe

Choose instead to embrace each day

Giving thanks to the God of grace

For the privilege of seeing

The birth of yet another day!

So for the month of August

And that starts on Tuesday

Let’s make it a challenge

To embrace each day

As a child embraces

A brand new toy!

If after the month

The taste of inner joy

And peace you relish

Extend the challenge

For another month or two

Encourage others to

Give it a try when they say

“There’s something different

about you today.”

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine;

but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

(Proverbs 17:22)
