Real beauty lies not in the outer shell

And here are some reasons why

Some shells might be short and fat

Others might be tall and lean

Some may walk with an awful limp

Or have to drag a lazy leg!

Some shells exhibit an unusual twitch

Or constantly have to scratch

Some shells may dress in hand-me-downs

But that’s their Sunday best

And these are but a few reasons

Why real beauty lies not

In the outer shell!

Real beauty lies within the shell

A diamond in the rough

Use yours as a guiding light

To polish the diamond

That lives within others

Whose outer shells

Are different!

“Let your light so shine before men,

that they may see your good works,

and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”
