Use the Highway as a Parallel

When traveling down the highway

At a comfortable cruising speed

Invisible fingers of breeze tangles hair into knots

Sunlight glistening through windows

Tans exposed arms and legs

No thought exists for tomorrow

The present moment requires all focus!

Ahead a blockage in the lane

Indicated by pylons, arrows, and flashing red lights

Stirs us to exercise caution and control

Then with ease and grace when the way is clear

Divert to indicated lane

Continue cruising at comfortable speed

No thought whatsoever about tomorrow

‘Cause the present moment requires all focus!

Should life not be the same

Traveling down life’s highway

At a comfortable cruising speed

Invisible fingers…sunlight…tans and all

Focusing on the present, but ready to divert

When there is a blockage along the lane

Should we not with ease glide into another lane

Instead of exhibiting instant panic

And complain of woe is me?

Use the highway as a parallel

See obstructions along your path

As God’s way of redirecting you

Towards the path He has in store

Which is better than before

And fulfilling in untold ways

Though at first

You do not see it

Place your trust

In Him!

“In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.”
