Faith is strong belief, without proof! How is your faith?
How Do We Measure Up by h. lena jones How do we measure up to Abel Who by faith offered God a more Excellent sacrifice than Cain? How do we measure up to Noah Who by faith built an ark Because he was warned by God Of coming destruction? How do we measure up to Abraham Who by faith offered up Isaac As an offering upon the altar? How do we measure up to Moses Who by faith left Pharaoh�s palace Preferring to suffer with the people of God? Thing is, these all died in faith Receiving not the promises, but Seeing them a far off! Do we have faith enough to Pass through the parting of the red sea Do we have enough faith To resist the mark of the beast When faced with the choice of Eating or starving? How do we measure up to the faith Of those simple, but great men mentioned above? Are we strong enough to walk by faith and not by sight? There�s something to think about! �Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.�

Quiet a thought provoking offering. Richard might be right, maybe sometimes we do measure up and others we might lack... A great write!

I can say with assurance that one has only to walk through the fires once to see what dwells in their heart.

It is not in the good and easy times when we see who we really are, its when things get tough and don't go our way that the true self emerges.

Do we measure up? Maybe sometimes. Not as often as we should though I fear.

We can't measure up, especially to our Lord and Saviour; not even close. HOWEVER, despite ourselves, He is worthy and just to forgive us our sins and love us as we are. Truly, a magnificent, thought provoking poem, Lena, well done!

Wonderful point and well written. One more question and I dare you to be honest with this one. How do we measure up to Jesus, who came to Earth, knowing full well what was to come but he came anyway?
Now there is a real question. Which one of us can live up to that?

These are men of great faith and there is so much truth in your poem. I strive for ever increasing my faith. It is by faith we accept Jesus into our lives also. And it is by faith we continue to strive till we meet him... Thank you for sharing this one. That is something to think abnout the measure our faith..
