I sometimes wonder

About the reason for my existence

Am I here as a result

Of the union of my parents

One steamy, romantic night in May of ’52

Am I just another child to them

A mere addition to their

Already expanding brood?

I sometimes wonder

If my parents knew of me

Before I was conceived

And did I play a part

In them deciding

To choose me!

I sometimes wonder

Now that I am here

Do I simply exist from day to day

Accepting whatever life has to offer, good or bad

Or should I be daily trying to uncover truths

Which lead to answers of why I’m here

And what I should be doing?

All my wonderings are in vain

Unless I search for answers, that’s for sure

And where better do I go

If not to the Living Word of Jehovah,

For He did say, “Before I formed thee in the belly

I knew thee.”

Thus, it was not I

Who chose my parents

Or them me

It was Jehovah God Himself

Who orchestrated the inevitable union

That made it possible for me

To be born to my beloved parents!

And as for my purpose here on Earth

I have to believe that Jehovah

Also has a plan for me

And I must also believe that

I am exactly where I ought to be

Doing exactly what God wants me to do!

If per chance I am wrong in this conclusion

I know that my divine Father, Jehovah,

Will gently guide me towards

His chosen path

Because my life belongs to Him

He is the captain of my soul

For He said in Psalm 32 verse 8

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way

which thou shalt go; I will guide thee

with mine eyes.”

How exciting is the Living Word of God

For it speaks to us today

As surely as it did to our forefathers

It has stood the test of time

And the ignorance of unbelieving souls

Will never succeed in making

Obsolete the truths therein!

“For the word of the Lord is right;

and all His works are done in truth. He loveth

righteousness and judgment; the earth is full of the

goodness of the Lord. By the word of the Lord

were the heavens made; and all the host of them

by the breath of His mouth.”

(Psalm 33:4-6KJV)

Curious are my wonderings, sometimes

Sweet is the taste of truth

Tender is the touch of Jehovah

Mysterious is our Triune God!
